Kruger Navigate Pro is a driving companion for Kruger National Park. It puts the whole park on one live map โ every rest camp, entrance gate, picnic site, bird hide, waterhole, viewpoint, camp shop and fuel station โ and tells you how far each one is from where you are, which way it lies, and roughly how long the drive will take.
It is built for people who drive the park themselves. First-time visitors can work out whether they will reach a camp before the gates close. Families with children get a camera that names what they photograph, a bush checklist to tick off, and a friendly kids game. Regulars get their whole trip in one place: a day-by-day itinerary, fuel range for the vehicle they actually drive, a log of every drive, and a sightings history they can share with the people they travelled with.
Most of the park has no reception at all, so the app is designed for that first. Save the map and every place to your phone once, while you still have signal at the gate, and then browse, navigate and identify animals with no connection. Gate opening and closing times shift with the season and with the month you travel, so the app always uses the times for the season you are in, and warns you when a drive will not make it back before the gate shuts.
Kruger Navigate Pro is built and maintained by a small independent team of South African developers and park regulars who spend their own holidays on the park's sand roads. Places, gate times and facilities are checked against the park's own maps and gate tables rather than guessed, and what travellers report on the contact page is what gets fixed and added next. Access is paid for once-off or monthly so the map, camera and guidance can keep being checked and kept current.
If something is missing, out of date, or wrong on the ground, we would like to hear about it โ that is how the map stays useful.
